Creepy but cute beetles

I love images of bugs and love inventing my own bugs.  These ink and wash sketches looked really cool when I did some machine stitching on and left the threads hanging.  They were a good match for the bug plate.  I love the inky blue black - am  TOTALLY into inky colors at the moment - not very "spring" but so what!

Busy as a beetle

I am busy with commissions to do 3 sketches of these quirky little bugs and 3 sketches similar to the chairs but with a mix of furniture.  Have done chaise long's and retro couches and lots of chairs in a row.  They are fun to do and I reference good old decor mags for the chairs or just make them up in my head.

The bugs are mostly just made up and judging by what I have seen living next to a nature reserve, nothing would suprise me....
