Sisters and Art on the Farm!

I recently went to visit my sister on her Banana farm in Mpumalanga.  It was my adorable nephews 1st and 2nd birthday and I went to be a helpful Aunty.

My sister invited some of her friends for a lunch and a very informal art exhibition in her dining room!

It was a stunning setting to display a few things in for the local ladies who lunch!

Bowls with Soul!

There is something so humble about an enamel bowl - so unpretentious!  I have a thing for them and decided to experiment with them as a new surface to doodle on!  I loved the result but thought it may be a bit too kitsch for most folks.  Boy was I wrong!

Promise to bring some to the iheart market on Saturday!

On the road again!

I love to be in the car on a long journey full of anticipation of the holiday ahead and all the chaos of packing for a family of 5 finally over!!  This is what you see looking out your car window all over South Africa.  We are off to a wedding in the midlands this weekend and this is typical of the farm roads we will drive along.  This is done on canvas mostly with brown charcoal and a little bit of colour wash.

Buy-bye Miss Bokkie

She was in a lovely vintage frame and I think sold as soon as she was put up at the Fat Tuesday Gallery.
I have had an amazing response to my work there and will be posting more details soon!
